"Wild Mustang"

P51 Mustang
The famed P51 Mustang American Fighter Plane of WWII was introduced in 1942.
It flew most of it's missions as a bomber escort over Germany and was armed with
six .50 caliber M2 Browning machine guns!

After the earlier versions with an Allison engine, the P-51D was powered with a Packard V-1650
(two-stage, two-speed) supercharged version of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine
(Packard was licensed by Rolls Royce).

Incredibly, it was used in various airforces throughout the world until 1984 — 42 years!
