What and Why
Let’s face it, all artists have a philosophy — whether they know it or not.
It is why we do what we do, and how we do it.
I love beauty. I want to share the beauty I see.
In 2015, I had long been burned out from creating uniquely graphic images of vintage cars and musical instruments. I spent ‘way’ too much time in the computer. So, I had to make a decision.
I decided to continue with photography, but to go to the place that I love more than any other — the seashore.
It is almost magical. The sights, sounds and smells are therapy for the soul. They are ever-changing and often surprising.
The salt and spray, the sand and rocks. The constant dancing of motion and changing of color and light. The dynamics can change from a soft and lovely palette of pastels, to a burst of power and energy — in a millisecond.
We humans are drawn to the edge of the sea more than any place on earth. Provable by the fact that it is the most desired and valuable real estate — no matter the continent.
I am so blessed to be near one of the best stretches of coastline in the world — Laguna Beach, CA. There is good reason it has been an art colony for over one hundred years.
This is a glimpse of why I do what I do and why I want to ‘share’ it with you.
